Core Architecture

Workfit’s matching engine is inspired by Judea Pearl’s causal theory. But this is not an attempt to lean on academic authority. What I am pursuing is not complex technology for its own sake, but a system that can still be explained and trusted over time.

A good system does not prove itself through difficult terminology. As the business grows more complex, it should remain clear. As judgment criteria increase, it should still be possible to trace where each outcome came from. As the product grows, it should remain understandable and maintainable.

Workfit’s architecture was not designed to display technical capability. It is focused instead on removing unnecessary complexity. Problems that can be handled by rules are handled by rules. Areas that require user judgment are not decided by the system on the user’s behalf.

I believe a system that earns long-term trust must explain cause and effect, not merely rely on surface correlation. It should be possible to understand why an outcome occurred, why a condition matters, and why a boundary needs to be preserved.

To me, architecture is therefore not just a technical structure. It is an order in which facts are respected, rules are applied consistently, evidence is recorded, and outcomes can be verified at any time. Only on that foundation can a system built by a small team survive and grow over the long term.
